God’s election, of which the Bible speaks a great deal, is an unconditional act of free grace that was given through his Son Jesus before the world began. By this act, God chose, before the foundation of the world, those who would be delivered from bondage to sin and brought to repentance and saving faith in Jesus, and that unconditionally—God’s choice of those to be saved had nothing to do with anything they were, are, or were to do in and of themselves.
