Mrs. Libby Wojasinski

Mrs. Libby Wojasinski, nursery care coordinator

Libby Wojasinski grew up in Pasadena, Texas, where she began her work with children’s ministry in 1970.  She served as a Sunday school teacher, Preschool Coordinator, Director of Children’s Ministries, and Director of Preschool at the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, the church in which she herself grew up.  She has conducted numerous early childhood workshops and training sessions for churches throughout Texas.

Mrs. Wojasinski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education/Psychology from the University of Houston (1977) and earned a Master’s  degree in Early Childhood from the University of Houston–Clear Lake City in 1987.  Her teaching experience includes preschool, kindergarten and first grade in both public and private schools and she has held adjunct teaching positions in early childhood at both San Jacinto College and Houston Community College.  Additionally, she has served as an instructor of kindergarten curriculum and alternative certification for elementary teachers at Houston Community College and as an early childhood student teacher supervisor for Lee College.

After moving to Lufkin in 1994, Libby has continued to serve the church on a volunteer basis as a nursery worker, a Sunday school teacher and as a board member of a local church preschool.  In 2007, she founded and was the director of Comfort & Joy Preschool, a fully accredited child care center based at her home, until the school closed following her recent retirement.

Libby and her husband, Stanley,  are the proud grandparents of eight boys!  Needless to say, Christ Church feels particularly blessed to have someone of her caliber and breadth of experience leading our early childhood ministry.
