Mrs. Connie Kennedy, church clerk
Connie Kennedy, a charter member of Christ Church, is a native Lufkinite. She attended Hudson School and Angelina College. As an active volunteer, Mrs. Kennedy has been very involved in her home community, serving on the boards of such organizations as the Chamber of Commerce, Crime Stoppers of Lufkin, and the American Red Cross, in addition to working with a wide variety of other civic groups and relief agencies, including Young Life, Rotary, the Boys and Girls Club, Kiwanis, the Salvation Army, the American Cancer Society, United Way, Angelina Beautiful Clean, and the American Heart Association. She is currently the Vice President of the Lufkin Crime Stoppers. In 1997, Mrs. Kennedy was awarded the Butch McMullen “Silver Spike” Award for “distinguished community service”.
Professionally, Mrs. Kennedy served for nearly three decades as the Director of Customer Service for Lufkin-Conroe Telephone Exchange. She also worked two years in community relations for the Woodland Heights Medical Center of Lufkin.
When not volunteering her time to others, Connie enjoys cooking, exercising, gardening, and golfing. She is currently the president of the Crown Colony Ladies Golf Association. She also relishes spending time with her family, which includes her husband John, her son Jack, her twin brother Johnny, and her wonderful dogs, Sugar and Bogie!
